  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons yellow mustard seeds
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small shallots, finely chopped (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce, sodium reduced
  • 1 chili peppers finely chopped
  • 1 ½ cups tomato juice
  • ½ teaspoons white pepper
  • ½teaspoons cumin ground
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 black pepper

Below is a recipe for the most hearty schezuan. The recipe is very simple and you can prepare it in no time. You can as well watch the video that follows later for a step-by-step preparation. This video will guide you to a delicious meal.

  1. Soak the chillies for a few minutes in a dish of boiling water.
  2. Remove the chilies and drain after about an hour, then set the water aside. After that, cut the chilies and put them to the mixer. Pour in a small amount of the water that was previously used to soak the chiles.
  3. Sauté the garlic, hot pepper, shallot, and mustard seed in the oil in a small skillet until the garlic and shallots brown and the mustard seeds explode (ideal over high heat, but don’t burn the oil).
  4. Combine the tomato juice, tamari, white pepper, and cumin in a mixing bowl.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Mix 2 tablespoons cold water and cornstarch in a small cup until smooth.
  7. Stir continuously into the sauce.
  8. In a minute or two, the sauce should thicken.
  9. Take it off the heat and whisk it into your favorite dish.
