- Cook for 30 minutes, stirring regularly, after adding the sugar.
- Remove from the heat and set aside to cool.
- Meanwhile, whisk together the egg yolks and add them to the cooled milk mixture.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Fill 8 heat-resistant dessert dishes or ramekins with the mixture.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes in a water bath (bain marie) or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the custard comes out clean.
- Broil for 3 to 5 minutes or until golden brown on tops, or use a Crème Brûlée flame.
- Refrigerate for 2 hours before serving.
- Remove from the mold and place on dessert plates.
- Garnish the servings with a raspberry sauce, a few fresh raspberries, and a sprig of mint, if desired.
