Picaditas recipe – Here is one of the most delicious recipes for picaditas. It’s quick, easy and it’s healthy. We recommend you try it.

  1. Preheat the oven to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Toast the chilies on both sides in a pan over medium heat. It will take roughly two minutes to complete this task. After that, put them in the blender.
  3. In a baking dish, combine the tomatoes, 1/4 onion, and garlic.
  4. Remove the onion and garlic after 10 minutes. Peel the garlic cloves. In a blender, combine the onion and garlic.
  5. Cook the tomatoes for an additional 8 minutes.
  6. Add the tomatoes, along with the salt, to the blender.
  7. Blend everything until it’s completely smooth. If required, add a splash of water to the blender to get it going.
  8. In a medium-sized pot, melt 1/2 tablespoon of lard. Fry for about 5 minutes after adding the salsa.
  9. Combine the masa harina and salt in a mixing bowl, then add the warm water and knead the mixture into a dough that is sticky but not sticky enough to come off your hands.
  10. Form little dough balls (about 55 g each) and roll between your palms until smooth. While the remainder of the ingredients are being prepared, cover the dough with a tea towel or plastic wrap.
  11. Make your salsa ahead of time. Prepare the additional garnishes you’ll need as well.
  12. Place a ball of dough in the center of a tortilla press on a piece of plastic. To make somewhat thicker tortillas, place another plastic piece on top and press down. Use your hands or the bottom of a flat dish if you don’t have a press.
  13. Cook each tortilla for about 60 seconds on the first side in a cast-iron skillet over medium heat, or until brown spots appear and the edges curl up.
  14. Flip the tortilla and lightly press down on it until it puffs up, around 80-90 seconds. Remove from the fire and set aside to keep warm while you finish the rest of the tortillas.
  15. Pull a small amount of dough from the inside portion of the cooked tortilla to form a small ridge around the exterior after about 30 seconds. Pinch the central portion as well to create little holes.
  16. Return the tortillas to the skillet after brushing the bottom with oil. Drizzle a little refined coconut oil or other vegetable oil over each one and cook for a few more minutes, until crispy.
